Mac's Stars

Mac’s Stars January 3 - 9, 2008

“Winter starts off with a bang, hopefully not literally but the dynamics for profound energy to be released is very strong.”

“Great storms of wind, rain and snow take place. Great movements of men and armies may be the case. Whatever is being planned will certainly capture the attention of the world. Governments may topple and others in power may have an extremely hard time holding on to it.”

The above two comments appeared in the December 20, 2007 column. With the Bhutto assassination and uprising in Kenya we can see that there definitely are hotspots on the planet that may go into meltdown mode and total revolutions could take place.

The opposition between Saturn and Uranus dominates the skies throughout 2008 and 2009. Saturn holds a strong position in Virgo with the planet and sign going together like a hand in a glove. Virgo always represents the proper and logical way to go and Saturn supports correct and proper behavior. We can say that Saturn represents the old guard, the tried, true and tested way. Entrenchment is the word that comes to mind when I think of Saturn and Virgo energy combined. The negative qualities of this mix are fear and paranoia, intolerance, racism, hatred, and fear of the unknown. Virgo represents the harvest while Saturn represents scarcity, indicating that famine may take its toll. Of course there will be a fierce struggle to hold on to the vestiges of what worked in the past which means more bombs and more war and more fear and suffering.

Uranus in Pisces is just about as opposite an energy as can be to Saturn Virgo. Uranus Pisces brings new hope, new life and new ways to go. As limited as Saturn and Virgo can be is as boundless as Uranus in Pisces can be. Pisces represents the vast oceans from which unlimited potential can be pulled. Uranus is the principal of awakening and dawning of wild new innovations that bring wave upon wave of discovery and advancement. Saturn says stick to the status quo and stay to what you know. Uranus says blow the door down and try something new.

The positive side of Saturn Virgo is when things are right they work like a fine Swiss watch but when things go wrong they can get really wrong. This is where the entrenchment comes into play. Rather than give things a fresh perspective the Saturn Virgo energy would rather patch it up, repair it and stay to a steady diet of no risk, no venture and no changes. Uranus works to overthrow this reserved and archaic behavior. Saturn Virgo represents all established religions and of course, those that adhere to these ancient belief systems. Uranus Pisces brings a more universal cosmic approach in which we are seen as one people on one planet in a unestimitable expanse of time and space. Saturn fights a bare knuckled fight in order to keep everyone in line with their particular take on life. A mean oppression and keen hatred and intolerance for others outside the loop manifests like cancerous lesions as the result of rigid and fossilized belief systems. Pisces is the vast sea of consciousness and Uranus offers unlimited potential of breakthrough and discovery.

In my humble opinion I have not seen a leader to date in my life that has stepped up to the plate and offered total disarmament now! We have choices to make and whether or not we have peace is in our hands. This is the darkness before the dawn and we must do all that we can to bring some type of lasting peace to the planet. It is as plain as the noses on our faces. We need leaders that are not fear based and understand the principals of nonviolent living. Religious intolerance and racism are reflections of our ignorance, fear and hatred.

Well now a time has come in which we will get it sorted out. I find it interesting that Neptune transits Pisces from 2012 to 2025. Everybody is psyched up about 2012 and many myths have grown regarding this particular year. Pisces is the sign of universal love and compassion and with lord Neptune visiting, he may very well open up the hearts and minds and a change, albeit gradual, will take place. Now the olive branch may be extended and received with good will and respect for all peoples in all places, regardless of race, colour or creed. We will awaken to the fact that war, terrorism and any other form of domination has not and never will work. The human spirit will prevail and a wonderful healing will take place. I hope I’m alive in 2025 as I would love to see the state of humanity at that time. Never mind though as the work is now, not then.

ARIES
Just keep polishing the stone. In other words, perfect your skills and develop your interests and passions. Prepare to go on the wildest ride of your life from 2010 to 2018. Uranus visits Aries at that time and will bring great changes your way. Possibly you will search for the Holy Grail.

TAURUS
Get busy with your projects and know that a time has arrived in which you can move along nearly uninhibited. It may take a few months to truly see the path ahead but it will happen and you will be well on your way to happiness and success. Show some style and manifest some confidence throughout 2008 as others are keen on your abilities and talents.

GEMINI

The moon moves through your opposite sign Sagittarius from January 4 to 6 as she makes a series of contacts to the planets. There may be some sticky politics to sort through and others may be confrontive or reactive according to how you handle what is in front of you. Changes at work and home could be the case. With the sun and Mercury casting good energy from Aquarius there may be some excellent spiritual experiences or heart to heart talks that get things back on track. It sounds like a busy and involved time which you may enjoy.

CANCER
You get a little reprieve from the blistering pace of the fall season. Take some time to consider the big picture and then put yourself in it. The springtime promises to be lively and demanding, which Cancer types love. You are relentless and hardly ever let go once you are latched onto something. All kinds of very interesting opportunities come up in the near future. Pay attention and be willing to make changes where necessary. Deep transformative changes are starting to awaken within you.

LEO
Ketu, the south node of the moon visits Leo from December 2007 to August 2009. Rahu and Ketu are shadow planets. They are the points on the ecliptic where the eclipses take place, thus they are associated with all aspects of karma. Ketu’s impetus is to seek knowledge and spiritual freedom. The nodal axis will act as a conduit and will bring the Neptune wisdom your way. It will teach you ways of detachment and spiritual devotion leading to enlightenment. Intoxicants of any kind should be avoided as the other side of the coin can represent escapism through the lower senses.

VIRGO

Read the introduction regarding the Saturn Uranus opposition as it relates to your sign big time. Saturn’s two year visit to Virgo will have a powerful impact on you. Much depends on how you are living your life. If you are keeping it clean you will benefit from Saturn’s visit. If there are areas of your life such as health or career that need correction and change, now is the time to do so.

LIBRA

Life’s pace quickens and your social calendar fills up from January to mid March. All well and good as Libra enjoys all aspects of communication and exchange. With all of this going on you may be in a pensive mood and somewhat moody as the past and family considerations tug on your heart and emotions. No doubt you would rather fly over the murky mucky spots, but you may feel inclined to give it all some fresh air and get it all aired out. 2008 is the time to do so.

SCORPIO

Mars and Pluto are locked into an opposition pattern until nearly mid March. Both planets are strongly connected to Scorpio. Intense clashes could occur surrounding money issues or ego disputes. It may be wise to avoid this energy if possible. Jupiter and Saturn cast fine energy your way throughout 2008 bringing rhythm and timing into play nicely. You can experience great success in your endeavors.

SAGITTARIUS

Venus is on board as she pays a visit to your sign. She brings love, grace and harmony to the table. Romantic energies are strong. Venus also represents values and ethics. Venus and Saturn square off on January 6 indicating a change of heart or a possible falling out with someone. The moon moves through Sagittarius from January 4 to 6 heightening life’s activities all around. You won’t be bored.

CAPRICORN

Its lift off time. Now the journey has begun and so has the fun. The new moon on January 8 occurs in your sign. Jupiter, lord of abundance and confidence is sitting close by and bringing his good will to the table. Overcome your fears and reservations and go for the gusto. Life will deepen in many ways and much is destined to happen now. Power, wealth and deep internal growth are in store. Make up your mind about what you want to do and then get on it.

AQUARIUS

You may feel like Alice in Wonderland as this month progresses. Mercury and Neptune hook up in your sign until mid February and life is destined to take many a twist and turn. It may be hard to get to the facts of any particular thing. Your mantra may be “Stop making sense.” On the positive side of the coin a great flow of creative expression may come out of that urn that you carry on your shoulder. Dreams and diversions along with spiritual awakenings may come to pass. You may be moved as never before to help others in some capacity.

PISCES

Read the introduction regarding the Saturn Uranus opposition as it relates to Pisces. In many ways the past has become a haze and new realities are dawning in your consciousness. It is best to assist this process of revolutionizing yourself however you can. You may feel more alive than ever and thrilled with the opportunity to discover the unknown and embrace all that life has to offer.

  3. Thanks to Lucy and Karen for taking the time to write in. Wouln’t you know it that the first Saturn Uranus opposition happens on november 4, 2008 which is election day. It is a strong footnote that big changes are going to happen. It is very exciting and it generates hope that keen minds will be on the case and more than willing to initiate the changes that hopefully bring peace and security to the planet and an end to the endless wars. Of course if we miss the boat and get the wrong people in, then we will see more chaos and unrest until we get it figured out that the only answer is to lead the way in a non violent way. If we set the example then others may follow.
